RJD2 isn’t the only Columbus native coming home this week for a show at The Bluestone. In an odd but satisfying coincidence, country legend Dwight Yoakam, also reared in this city, will play the very same venue this Tuesday.
Yoakam is touring behind last year’s album 3 Pears. The superb set of honky-tonk ramblers features guests as diverse as Kid Rock, Beck and the Pistol Annies, but, as always, the star is Yoakam’s unmistakably twangy croon, one of country’s most indelible instruments.
Sturgill Simpson opens Tuesday’s show.
