The Package Tour, eh? Innuendo always did figure heavily in this boy band thing.
You know what you’re getting with New Kids on the Block and 98 Degrees, so let’s talk about Boyz II Men. How are they not headlining this tour? I realize the Barry White spoken word dude isn’t in the group anymore, but c’mon! They sold more records than these other shmucksheir appeal spanned generational and racial boundaries; everybody was rocking II, not just teeny boppers, not just blacks, not just New Jack Swing aficionados
Go back and listen to that record —it is awesome. Debut Cooleyhighharmoney: also awesome.
Yet somehow Boyz II Men are no longer icons, surpassed in the playbill hierarchy by a third-string boy band better known for tabloid exploits than hit singles. Can you tell me how a perfect love goes wrong?
