The long Labor Day weekend means there’s plenty of time to pack in the usual debauchery, so why not kick off the holiday with something a bit classier? BalletMet, under the supervision of new Artistic Director Edwaard Liang, will preview its upcoming season with selections from “Swan Lake,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “The Nutcracker,” and “The Four Seasons” during this free, outdoor extravaganza.
The troupe will also premier a new work from Liang during the event, according to a press statement.
“We’re thrilled to be able to debut a work by our new artistic director,” said BalletMet Executive Director Cheri Mitchell in the press release. “We’re happy to be back for the riverfront performances. It’s always such a great event for the community, and our dancers love it too.”
Attendees are invited to bring folding chairs and blankets, as well a picnic dinner, which should make for a pleasant all-around evening on the waterfront.
