Concert preview: Walk the Moon’s blend of teeny-bopping indie-rock would have been refreshing at the VMAs

Don’t block Walk the Moon’s shine. The Cincinnati rockers with Columbus ties play a teeny-bopping version of indie-rock, but they do it well.

If rock was still considered pop music, they might have been a breath of fresh air at the VMAs last weekend.

As it stands, they’ll have to settle for thousands of adoring fans from their home state in a glorious downtown amphitheater.

No word yet on the follow-up to last year’s self-titled smash, but the recent Tightrope EP will hold over anybody jonesing for more.

In the meantime, “Anna Sun” is a resilient enough beach ball to stay bouncy long after they inflated it.
