Nick Tolford & Company

8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21

GCAC Independents’ Stage

In the scene in “High Fidelity” where Rob Gordon is asked “Do you have soul,” he responds despondently, “That all depends.” Well, when it comes to soul there’s no contingent for Nick Tolford. The man (and his band, a local Dream Team of talents) represents the best of the neo-soul genre with a blissful throwback to the Stax/Motown era.

This is My Suitcase

2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21

CD 102.5 Rock Local Stage

The jangly indie-pop sounds of This is My Suitcase is at its most infectious live — and rumor has it this will be the second-to-last live show for the band. Frontman Joe Camerlengo is as spirited a performer you’ll find on stage, but it’s his earnest lyrics that truly enmesh the audience. Well, that and his perfectly placed falsetto boosts.
