The season of merriment is upon us, and what better way to get in the mood than with some seasonally inspired mood-altering beverages from Columbus’ finest local breweries. If you want to make sure your family gatherings are full of holiday cheer and Ohio pride, keep a few of these brews handy.

Columbus Brewing Company’s Winter Warmer

Fight off the winter chill with Columbus Brewing Company’s Winter Warmer. Heavy on caramel malts, this brew invokes the holiday spirit with hints of ginger and cinnamon. Pick up a sixer, a growler or enjoy a pint from the tap.

Winter Warmer Spiced Holiday Ale

Elevator’s Spiced Holiday Ale has been pleasing Columbus residents for a while, but this spicy medium-bodied beer is getting national recognition as well. Last December, it was the highest rated in the “winter warmer” category earning 93 points at the Beverage Tasting Institute. Expect a dry and fruity taste with hints of gingerbread and carrot cake, punctuated by a parsnip finish. Yum!

Glad Tidings

Housemade orange rind syrup blended with ginger, cardamom, coriander, cinnamon and clove create a delightfully malty deep-amber winter warmer that’s sure to take the chill out of your bones. Just imagine all the sweet treats you would have wanted in your stocking, in beer form.
