Sure, diary entries can be revealing, but most are relatively tame compared to the brutally personal tunes Evan Weiss pens under the name Into It. Over It. The emo-leaning musician has written songs about trading punches with a skinhead (a true-life tale based on a late-night exchange outside a Chicago bar), his attempts at quitting smoking (“New North-Side Air”) and, of course, the bitter feelings that linger in the wake of a painful breakup (“What is this new person you’ve become?” he sneers on “Spatial Exploration”). Don’t expect Weiss to hold back when he swings into town for this local stop.
The World Is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die (editor’s note: whew!), A Great Big Pile of Leaves and SRVVLST open the show.
