Exhibit preview: Yellow Springs artist’s “Bird Song Hill” uses reclaimed wood for nature scenes

Russ Shaw’s low relief wood images are three-dimensional, wood-carved natural scenes that commonly feature birds found near the artist's farm in Yellow Springs.

A self-taught artist, Shaw used reclaimed wood for his creations, including 100-year-old barn siding.

The works are an intersection of craftsman works and simple, yet appealing nature art. A public reception with the artist is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4.
