Pop cultural fandom can inspire many things. For a band of local writers and comedians — K-K Bracken, Zachariah Baird and Mike Kolar — the raucous result is a play the group wrote that satirizes the HBO hit television show “Game of Thrones.”
It is “both loving and hateful of ‘Game of Thrones,’” Bracken said.
“It’s loving of the books and ambivalent toward the show,” Baird added.
The hour-long, multi-scene parody is a hilarious gallop through the kingdoms as they prepare for a battle over a Starbucks latte.
Its double-digits cast described the adventure as “bloody,” “exceedingly fast-paced,” and “boners.” Oh, and don’t forget, “wildly offensive” (like the saying goes, you’ll know it when you see it). Long live funny fandom.
