From the May 15, 2014 edition

An avant-garde photography exhibition with more than 20 artists, this promises to be an eclectic and exciting collection of works.

All the artists featured explored the idea of transforming our ordinary interactions with images as a way to expand the medium of photography.

Therefore, “Fragments” has everything from distorted takes on traditional photography to innovative approaches for capturing the known in a new light, while also presenting straightforward works with fantastic or bizarre subject matter.

Opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
