In a city where reading a beer menu can feel like navigating an unending sea of hops and citrus undertones, the Gahanna Brewfest gives craft connoisseurs and wannabes alike a Columbus-focused brew-culture experience. The event doubles as a chance for guests to give back, with a portion of proceeds going to Ohio CASA/GAL, a nonprofit organization helping abused and neglected children through the court system.
The festival goes beyond the trial-and-error practice of sampling beer after beer to fine-tune one’s palate. Guests will talk to 11 local breweries about their preferences and learn about the brewer’s passions. Each admission package includes 25 samples, but the real reward is putting to rest the internal question, “Are stouts the ones that come in the funny glass?” while donating to a worthy cause.
