Theatre preview: “The Divine Sister” promises a campy, raucous romp

From the May 29, 2014 edition

Originally created by and starring Charles Busch (“Vampire Lesbians of Sodom,” “The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife”), this Short North Stage production promises to be a campy, raucous romp.

Doug Joseph steps in for Busch as Mother Superior, a nun dealing with every crazy incident under the sun (a devious German nun, a demented monk, an ex-lover and even the sexually frustrated fellow nun who coaches the wrestling team) while trying to save her parochial school in Pittsburgh from financial collapse.
