Newark’s Weathervane Playhouse is adapting one of the greatest stories of 20th-century literature in Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel.

“To Kill A Mockingbird” is ostensibly the story of Atticus Finch (narrated by his son), a white attorney who’s defending a black man accused of rape in the rural south, but there’s so much more within its pages.

Finch has served as one of modern literature’s greatest heroes, and the story is one of the most insightful works to tackle race relations in America.
