Exhibit preview: “Figure It: Forms of Human Expression” examines humanity in triumph and blunders

From the July 17, 2014 edition

The collection features sculptures from clay, glass, fiber and wood by 31 artists from across the United States using the human form as a means to examine both the body and the human condition.

Some showcase the triumph of humanity, others its blunders. Some celebrate motherhood and some are whimsical or mystifying.

Specific highlights include Calvin Ma’s “Backseat Driver” and Max Lehman’s “Red Skeleton with Black Birds” (pictured).
