Lydia Loveless has spent much of her career onstage. Now, thanks to filmmaker Gorman Bechard, the Columbus musician will make her Silver Screen debut in a new documentary, "Who Is Lydia Loveless?," which will receive its world premiere during the Columbus International Film + Video Festival. The movie is set to screen at the CCAD Canzani Center Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, and Alive freelance contributor and film critic Brad Keefe will host a post-showing Q&A with Loveless and Bechard.

"To me [Loveless] is the daughter Paul Westerberg and Lucinda Williams never realized they had. She is rock & roll. She embodies the chaos that makes for a great live performance," Bechard wrote in an early 2015 email prior to filming.

The documentary, in turn, should provide a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Loveless' new album, which is expected out sometime this spring/summer, as well as concert footage that might look familiar to local fans (Bechard recorded Loveless and her band in concert during an October 2015 performance at Skully's Music-Diner).

Who is Lydia Loveless? If you don't know, prepare to find out.
