The Columbus Food Truck Festival is always a welcome (and yummy) addition to the city's long list of summer events. This year is no exception as more than 65 Ohio food trucks will descend on Columbus Commons Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13.

The Columbus Food Truck Festival is always a welcome (and yummy) addition to the city's long list of summer events. This year is no exception as more than 65 Ohio food trucks will descend on Columbus Commons Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13.

"Our mission is to draw attention to Downtown Columbus, support our nonprofit partners, spotlight the gourmet mobile-food movement and support our local, independent small-business owners," event organizers Michael Gallicchio and Chas Kaplan said in a statement.

The sixth-annual festival will feature a variety of savory cuisine, from Hot Chicken Takeover and Donatos Street Pizza to Bob's Backyard BBQ and Hai Poké. There will also be plenty of sweet treats courtesy of purveyors like Gigi's Cupcakes and Graeter's Ice Cream.

Entertainment will be provided by a multitude of bands on the Columbus Commons Bicentennial Pavilion Stage and - new this year- the Groove U stage. Headliners include Angela Perley & the Howlin' Moons on Friday and Mr. Fahrenheit & the Loverboys on Saturday. Matty Sexton will be handling DJ and MC duties all weekend.

Arts and crafts will also be on hand to enhance the family fun.
