AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Around 2,000 people showed up to apply for 400 jobs at a new racino in northeast Ohio.
The crowds stood in line at a shopping center storefront to apply for full- and part-time jobs at the combination horse track and casino slated to open this fall in Austintown, near Youngtown.
The (Youngstown) Vindicator reports that positions are in food and beverage, video lottery terminals, finance and accounting, environmental services, surveillance, racing, count room and more. About two-thirds of the positions are full time with benefits.
The $125 million Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is one of seven racinos either already open or opening soon in Ohio.
