The Perry County sheriff is investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a couple whose bodies were found at a home in Shawnee.
Deputies who responded to a 911 call about 8:15 a.m. yesterday found the bodies of Christopher G. Thompson Sr., 43, and Juanita M. Thompson, 41, in the home at 284 New England Hill Rd., Sheriff William R. Barker said in a news release.
Both appeared to have died from gunshot wounds in what is thought to be a murder-suicide, Barker said.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called in to help, and the case remains under investigation, Barker said.
Mr. Thompson was convicted earlier this year of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 25 days suspended for one year on probation. He was ordered to take domestic-violence education, obey a protection order and have no contact with his victim, listed as his wife, for one year, according to Perry County court records.
Mr. Thompson was free on bond while he faced a fourth-degree felony charge of domestic violence that was filed last month.
The couple married in 1989 and had three children, according to marriage and birth records.
