Mixed-media landscapes featured in Leah Storrs exhibition

Leah Storrs has captured your favorite spot for her February exhibition at Wild Goose Creative.

Technically, the landscape works are of some of the artist's favorite spots, the overlooked (thus the title) places and spaces of everyday beauty. But rather than require you to transport to the specific location of the scenes portrayed, the work is meant, Storrs said, “To get people thinking about places significant to them; to remind you of something from your own life.”

This all-new work blends watercolor, silkscreen and embroidery, Storrs employing often broad strokes of watercolor with silkscreen overlay lines. One large work also features embroidered accents.

“Both of my grandmothers did embroidery and cross stitch,” Storrs said, “and I always loved how it looked.”
