A rundown of what to find in theaters this week

New releases:

“Get Out”

Jordan Peele (of TV's “Key and Peele”) makes his directorial debut in this horror film about a young black man heading to his girlfriend's family's white community. Look for scares, satire and cultural commentary.

“The Salesman”

This Best Foreign Language Film frontrunner from Iranian director Asghar Farhadi reunites him with the stars of his past works: “A Separation” and “About Elly.” (Gateway Film Center)

Alive recommends:

“I Am Not Your Negro”

This Oscar-nominated documentary had a sold-out run of screenings at the Wexner Center last week. If you missed it, it's opening at the Gateway Film Center. (5 stars)

“La La Land”

It will probably have a big night on Sunday after its record-tying 14 Oscar nominations, but, seriously, make sure you see this in a theater as intended. (5 stars)
