Long-running psych-rock act tours behind recently released 'Song of the Rose'

Since the early 2000s, singer/guitarist Dave Heumann has used Arbouretum as an outlet for his many, seemingly disparate loves — psychedelic Brit-folk of the '60s and '70s; big, classic-rock guitars; improvisation; Eastern philosophy — and has somehow managed to compellingly mesh it all together. If you like Pentangle and Bonnie “Prince” Billy, but you also dig Arbouretum's Thrill Jockey labelmate Pontiak, this Baltimore-based four-piece might be for you. Local psych-rocker TK Webb opens. (Safe bet)
