Don't miss this trio of acts

Chances are you already know about headlining acts Ween, They Might Be Giants, Emmylou Harris, Conor Oberst and Jenny Lewis. But don't miss the fest's impressive undercard, including these three acts.

Big Thief

6:30 p.m. Thursday, Main Stage

Big Thief's underrated 2016 album, Masterpiece, is as good as its title implies, but new record Capacity (out June 9) is even better. Frontwoman Adrianne Lenker writes with an emotional intensity that's devastatingly beautiful, and her command of melody will keep you coming back for more.

Cloud Nothings

6:30 p.m. Friday, Main Stage

Because of the legacy country artists Nelsonville has landed over the years (George Jones, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn), the fest sometimes gets a rep for being all Americana. But Dylan Baldi and his bandmates in electrifying Cleveland rock act Cloud Nothings are nothing of the sort (and neither is Brooklyn's Parquet Courts, playing the main stage at 8 p.m. on Thursday).

John Fullbright

2:30 p.m. Sunday, Main Stage

The NPR/Americana crowd knows Fullbright well, but for those who don't, check out this classic-sounding songwriter in the vein of Randy Newman who, at only 29, forgoes gimmicks (and twang) for superbly written and compellingly performed tunes on piano and guitar.
