EYE, DANA, WV White and other locals play art space's second annual fest

For the second year, in partnership with Wild Goose Creative, Gallery 934 in the Milo-Grogan district will showcase a bevy of local acts at 934 Fest. Ten bands will perform from 1 to 11 p.m., plus DJ George Brazil, and chances are there's something on the lineup for you.

EYE will almost certainly close down the night; the long-running doom-psych legend is made to be heard in the dark. Band to Watch DANA, featuring master howler and theremin conjurer Madeline Jackson, continues to conquer local stages, now with Courtney Hall on drums, Chris Lute on guitar and Dan Matos on bass. WV White will inevitably transform the songs from its newest record, House of Spiritual Athletes, into rowdy slacker-rock in a live setting. Heel Turn Records' Raw Pony specializes in short blasts of primitive, electrifying garage rock. Hello Luna makes radio-ready indie-pop, and the fest also serves as the farewell show for guitar/drums duo Polly Pocket.

Rounding out the lineup are Booty & The Kidd, Room & Board, the Trio and the Crooked Spines. The fest also features live art and kid-friendly activities during the day, plus food and beer. Admission is free but donations are encouraged and benefit the volunteer-led gallery.
