Latest Virginia West show features music of the '60s and '70s
Virginia West's shows at Axis Nightclub are spectacles, and “Oh, What a Night,” which opens this weekend, promises to be no different.
The cast of 24 features Virginia herself, along with Nina West, Anisa Love, Boyonce and a host of drag queens, kings and dancers. As the title suggests, “Oh, What a Night” is a celebration of the music of the '60s and '70s, ranging from the Jersey sound to Motown to the sound of Philadelphia and Disco.
“It's the music I grew up on, so I'm having an absolute blast putting the show together,” Virginia West said. “Theshow is nonstop song and dance, and of course some political commentary. It's been one of my favorite shows to put together because the music is so diverse and some of the songshad such powerful messages.”
The show opens Friday, Aug. 11 and runs through Aug. 26. Shows take place Friday and Saturday nights, with Saturday early evening shows on Aug. 19 and 26, and a Sunday show on Aug. 20.
