CWOC exhibition provides unique take on portraiture, still life

The members of Creative Women of Color were tasked to examine the traditional still life with two twists: first, to depict or represent a particular person using objects and symbols; and, second, to expand the notion of still life to include photography, sculpture, installation and more. Artists Gaye Reissland and Merele Wilder paid tribute to their parents in “Church of the Broken Heart.”

This fresh look at still life and portraiture remains on view through this weekend.
