Kish's art inspired by, inspires, stories

Matt Kish is a librarian and self-taught artist, so this exhibition of creatures of all shapes and sizes, indirectly inspired by stories, makes a whole lot of sense.

For the 934 Gallery exhibition, Kish, who has been drawing almost as long as he has been reading, has crafted his images of beasts and other characters from ink, found paper and paint.

Following Friday's reception, the exhibition will remain on view with open gallery hours starting on Saturday, Sept. 9, from noon to 4 p.m., and continuing through Sept. 23.
