Parquet Courts singer goes solo and keeps things interesting

There is always a moment of trepidation when the singer of a favorite band releases a solo record and tours under his own name. It is the musical equivalent of “maybe we should see other people.” Thankfully for Parquet Courts fans, it does not look like you have much to worry about. A. Savage's initial foray into the singer-songwriter genre is a far cry from the eclectic panorama of sound that the Courts indulge in. Instead, you have a solo artist that is traditional in his craft, or at least as traditional as one of the Parquet Courts can be expected to be, and as quietly interesting as Savage's day job. (Safe bet)
