Twee-punk duo back in town on heels of debut album

Diet Cig plays Columbus more than some local bands. Alex Luciano (guitar, vocals) and Noah Bowman (drums) return to town after two 2016 gigs at Ace of Cups and a June show at Rumba Cafe in support of the band's recently released debut album, Swear I'm Good at This. “When I was 16 I dated a boy with my own name/ It was weird,” Luciano sings on “Sixteen,” the leadoff track on Swear, a collection of quirky, pop-punk confessionals that are at turns blunt (“I wanna hold a seance for every heart I've broken, put them all in a room and say get over it”), sweet (“I wanna kiss you in the middle of a party”) and hangry (“I just wanna have ice cream on my birthday”). (Safe bet)
