Motherhood helps shape new exhibit at Angela Meleca Gallery
All the artists in the Sheilah Restack-curated “Repeat Pressure Until” are mothers. It's not specifically a show about mothering, but Restack did say that her own motherhood was something she was thinking about at the same time she was assembling the art.
“There are so many different kinds of emotions associated with [motherhood] and not all of them are the ones I feel like I'm supposed to have,” Restack said. “At times, I feel frustrated and resentful. The social construct of mothers is limited.”
