Take in the fireworks from one of these locations

It seems that everyone has their own routine for Red, White & Boom: favorite viewing locations, methods for getting in and out, secret parking spots, ideal snacks, you name it. This year, the explosive celebration takes place Tuesday, July 3, along the Downtown riverfront. If you're headed there for the festivities, aim for one of these spots with great food, drinks and a view of the show.

Milestone 229

Milestone's patio is front and center to the Red, White & Boom action. The curving patio faces the Bicentennial Park fountains and the riverfront, making it perhaps the ideal al fresco spot to watch the fireworks. While you're there, grab a cocktail or a beer and dine on pizzas, pulled pork sandwiches, crab cakes or roasted cauliflower.

The Keep

Located inside the LeVeque Tower, The Keep is hosting a Red, White & Boom viewing party this year. The ticketed event features a special menu of heavy hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, and an easy view of the fireworks. The night's offerings includes a full raw bar, smoked salmon gougere, deviled eggs, poutine, ice cream sandwiches and other tasty bites.

Strongwater Food & Spirits

Located just over the river in Franklinton, Strongwater is a short walk from the riverfront and close enough to catch the fireworks. Known for a menu that caters to a variety of preferences, Strongwater features creative bites like farro fritters, a vegan black bean burger, Nashville-style hot chicken, basil pesto mac and cheese, and jackfruit tacos.

BrewDog Franklinton

BrewDog's third outpost in Central Ohio sits close to both Land-Grant and Strongwater, and features a spacious rooftop patio with a handy view of the celebration. Sip on Punk IPA or Elvis Juice, play games on the patio, feast on burgers and other bar bites, then enjoy the show.

Land-Grant Brewing Company

Land-Grant's taproom has grown and changed over the years to become a popular hangout. In recent months, the brewer added a beer garden just off its existing patio. Plus, Ray Ray's Hog Pit has set up regular operations from a truck on-site. Barbecue, beer and fireworks: the perfect way to celebrate America's birthday.
