The latest updates from the bar and restaurant scenes

The popular OSU campus watering hole Mama's Pasta & Brew announced this week that its last day of business will be Friday, Nov. 30. Gene Szaronas first opened Mama's in 1977. According to the Facebook announcement, the building's owners plan to demolish it in December to make way for redevelopment.

This week, Amazon launched its Whole Foods Market grocery delivery service in Columbus and Dayton. Prime members can now shop Whole Foods Market online through Prime Now for fresh produce, meat, seafood and everyday staples. According to a press release, delivery is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and can take place in as little as an hour. The service is now available in 28 cities.

Arepazo Restaurants is raising funds this week to provide relief for the growing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela. Co-owner Carlos Gutierrez is a native of Venezuela, and he has relatives there. On Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., Arepazo Tapas & Wine will donate 15 percent of food sales from the restaurant at 515 S. High St. in the Brewery District. Arepazo is partnering with the organization Programa de Ayuda Humanitaria para Venezuela, which works to provide basic medical and hygiene needs in Venezuela.

Phillip's on Wheels, a food truck revival of the now-closed Phillips Original Coney Island restaurant, announced this week that itis expanding into the Short North Food Hall. Phillip's is known for its Coney dogs with house-made Coney sauce, plus sliders, fries and shakes.

Barbacoa Mexican Fusion & Bar is now open in the Ohio State campus area, taking over the space vacated by Rippers Roadstand at 2036 N. High St. The new fast-casual spot fuses together Mexican and Asian cuisines with a menu of tacos, wrapsand bowls. There's also a full bar serving margaritas.

Gahanna-based Kahiki Foods has been acquired by a South Korean food company, CJ CheilJedang. Kahiki, which sells Asian frozen foods like egg rolls and stir frys, was first founded in 1961 as a restaurant. Its owners, Alice and Michael Tsao, started the frozen food business in 1995 and closed the legendary Kahiki Supper Club on Aug. 25, 2000.

According to a sign posted on the door, Buckeye Chili & Smokehouse is coming to the space formerly occupied by Hungry Soul Cafe at 30 S. Young St. inside the Capital Plaza Garage.
