Haveli Bistro opened last week at 185 N. High St. in the Arena District. The upscale Indian restaurant fills a two-story space that has struggled to keep a tenant. (Past occupants include Madrid, Barrio Tapas Lounge and Wendy's.) The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, with a buffet lunch served Monday through Friday. The large menu includes a variety of dosas, biryanis, tandoori dishes, curries and Indo-Chinese specialties.
The Food Truck Food Court returns to John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons on Thursday, May 3. Food trucks such as Aloha Streatery, The Little Kitchen, Mya's Fried Chicken, Pitabilities and more will hold court 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. every Thursday through October 25. Cousins Maine Lobster launches its Columbus food truck, run by local franchisee Kathryn Nuss, on Friday, April 27, Downtown at Pins Mechanical Co., 141 N. Fourth St. The truck specializes in sustainably harvested Maine lobster, with a menu of lobster rolls, New England clam chowder, lobster tater tots, shrimp tacos and more.
Celebrity chef Michael Symon holds a book signing for his new cookbook, "Playing With Fire: BBQ & More from the Grill, Smoker & Fireplace," Sunday, April 29, at the Lewis Center Kroger Marketplace. The event takes place 1-2:30 p.m. at 6417 Columbus Pike.
As part of its Italian Village expansion, Seventh Son Brewing Co. opened a new rooftop patio last week at the Fourth Street taproom.
The Clintonville Farmers Market opens for the season 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 28, along North High Street between West Dunedin Road and Orchard Lane. The market runs every Saturday through November 17.
The Granville Rotary's 4th Annual Taste of Granville, an event featuring bites from local restaurants, drinks, a silent auction and live music, takes place 5-8 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Bryn Du Mansion, 537 Jones Rd. NE.
Johnson's Real Ice Cream opens its third Central Ohio location on Tuesday, May 1. The new ice cream shop is located at 160 W. Main St. next to the Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany. A grand opening celebration will take place Friday, May 4. Johnson's, which first opened its Bexley shop in 1950, added a location in Historic Dublin last year.
Los Guachos Taqueria will replace the space recently vacated by Hass Tacos at 7370 Sawmill Rd.
The owner of Blue Ginger Asian Fusion Bistro in Dublin is opening L. Ginger Asian Fusion & Hibachi in the Capitol Square space formerly occupied by Lee's China Kitchen. Lee's closed in February after 25 years in business at 65 E. State St. Expected to open in mid-May, L. Ginger will serve a pan-Asian menu during lunch and dinner.
Stack'd, which opened Downtown last summer, is up for sale. The restaurant at 88 E. Broad St. closed this winter with a note on the door saying the fast-casual spot would reopen in May. A “restaurant for sale” sign appeared on the door last week.
