A variety of programs for all ages will be offered in February at Reed Memorial Library, 167 E. Main St., Ravenna. 

Teens in grades six through 12 may take part in a read-in event at 2 p.m. Feb. 16. Participants will get to hang out with their friends, read their favorite books, and enjoy snacks.

Slimy Science Saturday, for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 17 for an afternoon of slimy science fun. 

Carol Shriner of the Hiram College Chemistry Department will offer new and exciting hands-on projects that explore different textures.

The library will be hosting a special Presidents Day Party at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 for teens in grades six through 12.

Students may enjoy the day off from school with a variety of trivia and games. No registration is required.

An afternoon of jokes and tongue twisters is planned for children in grades one through three. Participants will share their favorite joke or funny story and test their skills at completing tangled tongue twisters.

Reed Memorial Library will present the second installment in the Microsoft Excel series at 6 p.m. Feb. 20. Participants will learn how to use data to create charts and sparklines.

Completion of the Microsoft Excel I class or previous experience is required. Registration is required and space is limited.

The Afternoon Book Discussion will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 21. Adults may take part in an informal discussion of the book "Chocolate Covered Murder" by Leslie Meier.

In this Lucy Stone mystery, a store manager for a local chocolate shop is murdered and Lucy is drawn into the case of dueling chocolatiers while writing news columns for the local Pennysaver.

Copies of the book will be available to borrow at the Circulation Desk.

Families may visit the library from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 24 to compete in building and creating challenges. This monthly program offers multiple challenges for participants to complete using their imagination and provided materials.

Challenges are refreshed monthly. No registration is required.

The Teen Anime Club will meet at 2 p.m. Feb. 24. This club is open to all teens ages 13 and up who are interested in watching and discussing Japanese anime and culture.

Anime may be rated PG or PG-13. No registration is required.

The Knit, Crochet, and Needlecraft Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26. Participants should bring their works in progress, stories to share, and questions to ask.

This club is open to all levels of experience and spare materials will be available to use for practice. No registration is required.

Reed Memorial Library’s Writers’ Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27. This group is open to all authors and writers interested in practicing new skills, networking with other writers, and sharing their work for feedback.
