United Way of Portage County will host an NCAA Tournament Watch Party on March 16 at Ray’s Place (upstairs) in Kent. The party will raise funds to help UWPC support critically needed programs in Portage County.
The event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., is open to the public and invites all community members to enjoy the basketball tournament games, participate in auctions and raffles, and support United Way, as Ray’s Place will be donating a portion of food and beverage sales from the event to the organization. No registration is required so guests can stop by the party as their schedule allows.
All proceeds from the event will benefit UWPC and the programming it supports. Presently, UWPC funds 36 programs that help in the areas of education, financial stability and health. These key impact areas are working to provide measurable outcomes that show improvements in literacy rates, kindergarten readiness, emergency food, clothing and shelter, credit counseling, mental health services, drug treatment programs and more.
For more information about the event or to donate items for the silent auction, contact Shawna Borkoski at firstname.lastname@example.org or 330-297-1424.
