The Forget Me Not Garden Club met May 24 at the home of Andre Hajabed. Andrea Viner was co-hostess. Diana Dunn, vice president, led the business meeting. Janet Boyd, secretary, did the roll call with the question, what have you planted this spring? The treasurer’s report was given by Sharon Johnson.
It was announced the Historical Center did not need the club to plant any flowers as it planted perennials last year.
Plans were discussed about having a garden club reunion inviting past members. Janet talked to a past member, who volunteered her home for the reunion in July. Invitations will be sent out to past members and current members will provide refreshments.
The June 28 meeting with be at the Pine Tree Barn for lunch. Club members will meet at the Walmart’s garden center at 10:30 am and car pool over. Suggestions were made for upcoming meetings at Alta greenhouse and Pretty Penny Garden. Andree informed members that the AARP magazine often gives gardening tips. She also suggested club members go to some of the Brookside Series this summer.
Diana Dunn won the lottery. The program for the evening was a plant auction. Sharon was the auctioneer and members bid on plants they wanted brought in by members. Rereshments were serve by co-hostess and visitor Dorothy Fuller.
