Classic crime dramas from the 1940s and '50s get their just reward during the "Man, That's Cold" Noir Film Festival, running through the month of January at the Grandview Heights Public Library. Curated by staffer Chris Boerger, the festival will feature a weekly dose of mystery, deceit, corruption and jewel heists gone (very) wrong. Kicking off the series on Jan. 4 is John Huston's 1950 Oscar-winner The Asphalt Jungle, starring a then-unknown Marilyn Monroe. Ava Gardner and Burt Lancaster star in a small-town murder mystery in The Killers (1946), screening Jan. 11, followed by Billy Wilder's 1951 tale of Kirk Douglas' unscrupulous reporter in Ace in the Hole on Jan. 25. Rounding out the series on Feb. 1 is Orson Welles' classic tale of police corruption in a small Mexican town, 1958's Touch of Evil.
