Film lovers have a chance to catch two new flicks while simultaneously supporting local filmmakers this weekend, as Andrew Ina and Jon Mancinetti debut "Second Chance" and "Never Escape" at the Gateway Film Center.

Shot entirely in Cleveland, Mancinetti's full-length action thriller "Never Escape" follows a young man forced to help two strangers in a dystopian future.

Opening for "Escape" is Ina's short, "Second Chance." Shot in Glasgow, Scotland, while the filmmaker completed his graduate work in 3D animation, "Second" tells the story of a young man caught between two realities - with one potentially leading to his downfall.

The pairing is no coincidence. After meeting in a Cleveland high school art class more than 10 years ago, the two filmmakers discovered they had much in common. Both eventually moved to Columbus to attend CCAD. There, their ongoing collaboration culminated in "Brice Stevens: The Movie," a 2007 action-hero spoof.
