The definition of "annual" dictates an event must happen twice in two years before it can be deemed as such. This year, Eco-Chic Craftacular can add "second-annual" to its title, and this go-around promises to be bigger than the first.

Alongside the handmade wares will be musical performances, locally made tasty treats, an art tent for kids and sidewalk decorating by Via Colori chalk artist Gina Justice, according to organizer Heather Wirth.

But let's get down to the shopping.

The event is put on by Etsy Team Columbus, an organization of locals who offer wares on the handmade goods site. The Craftacular features Columbus crafters whose work spans from jewelry and accessories to toys, artwork and items for the home.

Among the 63 vendors are lots of familiar names - some with their own brick-and-mortar shops - including The Candle Lab, What the Rock?!, Label Yourself and Substance for Fashion Conscious People.

But many, many more setting up shop this weekend are still-to-be-discovered artisans. Here are five to keep your eyes peeled for.

Jenni Pink

What: Women's clothing made from sustainable fabric

Made by: Jennifer Carlson

Watch for: Summer dresses. This isn't your average soy clothing collection the looks have fresh, feminine details that'll mix in well with your more mainstream pieces. This is Carlson's first spring/summer collection and first Eco-Chic Craftacular appearance, and she'll have some sale items from her inaugural winter/fall line this weekend too.

Maidenhand

What: Felted fabric accessories designed as pieces of art

Made by: Shirley Torrance

Watch for: Color-soaked scarves. Torrance has been honing her felt-making craft for four years, and the result is her collection of sculptural scarves, felted flower corsage pins, decorative felted vessels, and river rocks made from wool, silk, bamboo and other fabrics. She'll be sharing them at the Craftacular for the first time this weekend.

Silverflame

What: Handmade jewelry made from reclaimed metal

Made by: Kristin Ellis

Watch for: Spoon rings. Ellis started making these after her mom damaged a sterling silver spoon in the garbage disposal. Now, she collects pretty spoons to craft into these wrapped rings. She'll also have spoon cuffs, mixed-metal earrings and sterling-silver jewelry mostly made from reclaimed metal, featuring gemstones she polishes herself.

Little Critters Plushies

What: Stuffed, monster-like characters and pillows

Made by: Stephanie Livingston

Watch for: Big Critters pillows. Livingston dreamed up these hideously cute creatures three years ago when she couldn't find the perfect gift for a friend. In addition to animal shapes, she also makes them in pillow form. More recently, at a customer's request, she designed a huggable "Big Critter" pillow. The big guys will make their debut at Eco-Chic Craftacular this weekend.

Zen Tree

What: Natural bath, body and home products

Made by: Lucia Carpenter

Watch for: Bar soap. Since starting Zen Tree eight years ago, Carpenter's hand-cut and -wrapped bar soaps in natural scents like Lemon Basil and ChocoMint have been her signature. She'll also be bringing handmade soap dishes, soy candles in wine bottles, beeswax taper candles, jersey-knit scarves, and sugar-and-Himalayan-pink-salt scrubs for her second Craftacular appearance.
