Best of Columbus 2008: Nightlife
Best Place for Live Jazz
Dick's Den
2417 N. High St., Campus
614-268-9573
Most students at Ohio State accidentally stumble upon the cozy, dusty confines of Dick's Den. And those with any sense end up spending a quarter or two drinking imported beer and discussing life with the colorful, lifetime patrons who line the wooden bar. This can be done at happy hour with the help of a jukebox holding classic 45s. But these soirees are even better late on weekends, when regular performances by the city's best ensembles cement the bar's reputation as the jazz capital of Columbus.
Runners-up: Park Street Tavern, James' Club 88
