Rad Dog, open about a week

What: Roving veggie hot dog cart (check raddogveg.com for current location)

Why: Because you're taking a vacation from meat

As I've often mentioned before, the hot-dog culture is not necessarily fraught with annoyances such as moderation. Well, Tawd (the spelling is a "Canadian thing") Bell clearly embraces the extreme. He's a multi-pierced guy totally covered in multi-culti tattoos, wears those ear-stretching loopy rings and now commandeers a one-man, 100-percent-vegan weenie business.

Bell treats his Tofurky hot-dog base with lots of love by placing it in a locally baked Aunt Millie's organic bun and generously layering on toppings like sauteed organic peppers and onions, organic sauerkraut and pickles and/or a thick, dark, surprisingly rich and distinctly aromatic vegetarian chili.

Sure, this is great for herbivores, but Bell's condiment care could conceivably convince even committed carnivores they don't always need to eat meat.
