Book fair set
The Barnesville Middle School will have the Scholastic Book Fair, Nov. 30 through Dec. 8. Family Night is set for Thursday, Dec. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be available.
Cookies with Santa planned
On Friday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m., the First Presbyterian Church of Barnesville will be hosting Cookies and Cocoa with Santa. Stop in for cookies and cocoa and be sure to bring a camera to get your picture taken with Santa himself!
Board of Trustees to meet
Belmont College will have its monthly Board of Trustees meeting Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Belmont Hills Country Club in St. Clairsville. The board workshop starts at 5 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
Commissioners to meet
The Belmont County Board of Commissioners' regular meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 13 has been rescheduled for Thursday, Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.
Three C Cancer Group
The Three C Cancer Support Group will meet Monday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Barnesville Senior Center. Remember to bring a covered dish and gift exchange.
Square dance planned
Barnesville FFA Alumni and Barnesville FFA will have a square dance on Dec. 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Barnesville Middle School. Admission is bring a pair of gloves, winter hat or other winter item and your admission is free. FFA will be donating these items to children in need.
No class meeting
The ladies of the class of 1965 will not meet for their monthly luncheon in December or January.
Township meeting set
Somerset Township will have its December monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the township garage.
Ohio Public Works Commission to meet
A meeting of the District 18 Executive Committee will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 1400 Pike Street, Marietta.
The purpose of this meeting is for the Executive Committee to select projects for Round 32 funding under the Ohio Public Works Commission State Capital Improvement and Local Transportation Improvement Programs (SCIP/LTIP). For questions, contact Michelle Hyer at 740-376-1025.
Public forum planned
The Belmont County Board of Developmental Disabilities will conduct it annual public forum on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Board office, 68421 Hammond Road, St. Clairsville. The annual survey of service and support needs will be available at that time. The Board of DD funds and/?or provides an array of supports for more than 500 adults and children with developmental disabilities in Belmont County. Supports can be provided throughout a person’s entire life and include early intervention, school-age supports, transition, job-related training, employment, personal growth, respite, residential, and transportation.
Coin club meets
The Barnesville Coin Club meets the third Sunday of every month, except December. The meetings are open to the public and are located at 229 E. Main St., Barnesville.
