The 'House of Enchantment', an all-gas model home, opens to visitors Saturday in the Cedar Hills development on the north edge of Cambridge. The showing of the Cambridge House of Enchantment is sponsored by the Ohio Fuel Gas Company in cooperation with Cambridge Small Homes, Inc. The home has been completely furnished as though for immediate occupancy by Bonham Furniture Co.

JULY 12, 1968

Standard Oil Co. of Ohio announced a price increase today of one-cent per gallon at company operated stations. The increases brought the price of regular gasoline to 33.9 cents a gallon in line with prevailing prices of other brands the company said.

JULY 12, 1978

Seven long-distance runners not only succeeded in breaking the national 24-hour running record for a seven man team this weekend, but also collected over $1,000 in pledges and contributions for the Noble County Unit of the American Cancer Society. The seven man team ran 270 miles, 707 yards, breaking the national record of 258 miles, 1,248 yards. Team members included: Brian Jonard, Mike Thomas, Bill Haviland, Pat Thomas, Steve Carnahan, Brent Brewer, and Paul Forshey.

Mandy Taylor and Ryan Wise were selected Little Miss and Mr. Ohio Hills Folk Festival. Mandy, 6, is the daughter of Larry and Carla Taylor and Ryan, 6, is the son of Kenny and Jeanne Wise.

JULY 12, 1998

The New Concord Dynamites recently won the West Virginia 12-under state softball championship. This qualified the team to compete for the national championship in Marietta, GA. Team members are: Emmy Ramsey, Jessica Marshall, Katie Jo Sprouse, Becky Davis, Lauren Seidling, Lindsay Dacre, Ali Hines, Erin Babcock, Staci Clark, Robin Killiany, Kayla Herron, Morgan McKinnon, and Brandi Valentine. Coaches are, Gary Hines, Alan Clark and John Sprouse.
