The adult star, who is alleged to have had an affair with President Donald Trump, ends Sirens' appearance by being taken to Franklin County Jail

Stormy Daniels, the adult film actress who is alleged to have had an affair with President Donald Trump, was arrested overnight in Columbus following an incident at the North Side strip club Sirens.

According to an affidavit filed by police, officers at the club said that Daniels, while topless, pressed club-goers' faces into her chest. She also allegedly grabbed one officer's butt. (In Ohio, the Community Defense Act makes it illegal for a nude or semi-nude employee in a sexually oriented business to touch or be touched by a patron. Depending on the body part touched, the charge can range from a fourth- to a first-degree misdemeanor.)

As a result, Daniels was charged with three misdemeanor counts of touching and taken to Franklin County Jail early Thursday. She posted bond and was released. An arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, July 13.

Daniels' attorney, Micheal Avenatti, writing on Twitter, described the arrest as "politically motivated" and vowed to fight all the charges.

According to Dispatch reporting, Daniels, born Stephanie Clifford, may be the first person ever charged over the no-touching law in Franklin County since it was enacted in 2007.

As a result of the arrest, Daniels canceled her next appearance at the club, which, to this point has best been known as the site of one of the oddest PokeStops known to humankind. Her second night of shows was scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 12.

The weather today still looks OK, though. Not a storm in the forecast.

UPDATE: Avenatti, writing on Twitter, said all charges against Daniels have been dropped. His tweet included photos of the legal documents.

UPDATE 2: According to Daniels, tonight’s Sirens performance is back on.
