ZANESVILLE — Betty Elizabeth Baldwin, 81 of Zanesville, passed away on Tuesday (December 5, 2017) at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House.

Born Aug. 1, 1936, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Dorman and Mildred (Durben) Law. Betty is survived by her husband, Bernie Baldwin, of 60 years whom she married on Oct. 31, 1957; and her four children, Steven Baldwin, Craig (Teresa) Baldwin, Terri (Lew) Sidwell and Julie (Phil) MacLaine.

She was the loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, Benjamin Baldwin, Jennifer Delong Baldwin, Katie (Dave) Brown, Karen (Jared) Cox, Kori Sidwell, Kasey MacLaine and Ally MacLaine.

Betty was employed by Cheeser’s Palace, Northside Garden Center and Baldwin Construction where she served as secretary and office manager for many, many years. However, her most important job was that of a mother and homemaker to her husband and four children.

Betty was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, member of the handbell choir, and served as an Elder and Deacon. She volunteered for many years in the West Muskingum schools and served as a Den mother for the Cub Scouts. While Betty enjoyed her time on all these organizations, and celebrating and decorating for her favorite holiday, Halloweeen, she most enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s academic and sporting activities. She was often seen sitting on the sidelines at West Muskingum, Maysville and Rosecrans schools cheering on a family member.

Betty is also survived by her sister, Twila (Gene) Dalrymple; brother, William (Sarah) Law; sister-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Law; Aunt Julie Mable Jones; a niece, several nephews and a special friend, Carol Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by brother, Lawrence Law.
