Donald Gombeda, 65, of Cambridge passed away Tuesday (December 5, 2017) at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1952 in Cambridge and was the son of the late George and Mary Ann (Barlock) Gombeda.
Don formerly worked as a carpenter, and a truck driver for J.R. Brown Trucking for several years. He ran his own car cleaning business for several years, and attended Meadowbrook High School. He was a NASCAR fan, especially Mark Martin, and was an avid Forty Niners fan. Don also enjoyed deer hunting and cleaning his truck. He was Catholic by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Francis, Ronald, Michael, Philip and John; and two sisters, Barbara Edwards and Marcie Villers.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Graham) Gombeda, whom he married May 23, 2006; two sons, Tim (Joshlyn) Gombeda and Donald "DJ" Gombeda, both of Byesville; one daughter, Shelly (Jason) Main of North Carolina; two step-sons, Joshua (Amanda) McHenry and Christopher McHenry, both of Cambridge; one step-daughter, Misty McHenry of Cambridge; three brothers, James (Teresa) Gombeda of Cambridge, Dave (Kim) Gombeda of Byesville and Daniel "Mud" Gombeda of Byesville; three sisters-in-law, Catherine Gombeda of Buckeyeville, Alice Gombeda of Cambridge and Marlene Gombeda of Byesville; 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday with Fr. Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
