Short North mainstay Collier West will close July 31 as its owners plan a new location in Brooklyn, New York.
The neighborhood will lose a retail darling, but it'll also see another expand: Tigertree plans to move later this summer into Collier West's current space at 787 N. High St. The move will double Tigertree's space.
"We have had an incredible experience here in Columbus," Collier West owner Suzi West said in a statement. "I feel so incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to launch in my home town."
West hopes to maintain ties to Columbus and Ohio after the move; her own jewelry line, Pont Neuf, will be sold at Brigade's Columbus and Cleveland locations. West also says she's been offered an advisory position at OSU.
"I [really] hope to keep our name alive so that we may be considered for a Columbus retail space in the future," West said in the statement.
The good news for shoppers: Collier West will be open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday throughout July, and many items will be discounted.
