Souper Heroes - formerly Columbus Soup & Bread - returns with Beer Soup at Seventh Son on Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 6-8 p.m.

Here's how it works: Anyone can sign up through the Souper Heroes site (souperheroes.org) to volunteer to make soup for the event. You'll get to pick up a complimentary growler of Seventh Son beer, and you'll be challenged to incorporate the beer into your soup. You bring the soup in a crockpot to share.

On the night of the event, guests can sample all the soups and make donations to support Neighborhood Services, Inc., an organization based in the University District working to end hunger in Columbus. In addition to trying soups, guests can enjoy Seventh Son beer, bread from Matija Bread, and drink specials from Watershed Distillery. The event is sponsored by Weiland's Market.

Soup and Bread normally runs once a month from October through May at venues like Strongwater Food & Spirits, Seventh Son or Woodlands Tavern. For each monthly event, volunteers bring a crockpot of homemade soup to donate, and guests try fresh soups and bread. Anyone can then place donations in the Donation Slow Cooker. Each month the benefiting organization changes, but has included places like Neighborhood Services, Children's Hunger Alliance and the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
