Flatiron may be the city's skinniest restaurant. Not skinny like low fat, but skinny narrow. At the eatery's eastern tip, there's barely room for a two-top. It's really quite charming -- the type of quirky neighborhood hangout you'd hope to find more of Downtown.
Speaking of not low fat, I stopped in this weekend for a house-smoked pulled-pork sandwich (tangy, juicy and delicious!) and upped the finger-licking ante with a piled-high side: Sweet and Hot Fries.
The thin fries are dusted with pepper and balsamic vinegar, and topped with shredded cheddar. They're not overly spicy, but there's a little kick that goes well with Flatiron's great barbecue. And you don't need ketchup for dunking these spuds -- they're already moist, but not soggy.
