I usually enjoy spending at least one afternoon at the Ohio State Fair. Farm animals are cute (and delicious!). I like to eat one or two things on a stick, check out the huge model train display and gawk at the Butter Cow. Really, you can't go wrong with butter in the shape of anything.
But I didn't make it to the fair this year. It was just too HOT. And apparently I wasn't the only one done in by the heat.
According to the Ohio Expo Center, 806,301 people came to the fair this year, down one percent from last year's 814,152. Nine days of 90-degree-plus weather made it the hottest fair since 1995.
Fortunately, that Butter Cow somehow stays nice and cool.
