A letdown on the live music front is not surprising after a weekend filled with such strong bills across the board, but still, it hurts when Big Head Todd and the Monsters is the best our city has to offer. Thankfully, there's something better this Groundhog Day.
Micah Schnabel of Two Cow Garage will play solo at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St., offering a stripped-down take on the bombastic punk Americana the band usually serves up. Few bands slay like Two Cow, so you might miss the band's thunderous crunch. But I'm guessing it will be cool to get a quieter take on Schnabel's songs of barfights, Camaro sex and vapid, verbose women. Show up at 10 p.m. unless you want to witness the poetry forum ahead of time.
